Hui O Kamaleinani is under the direction of Anakē Kaleihiwa Almario.

Anakē Kaleihiwa began her hula journey in 2004 under the guidance of Kumu Hula Kamalei Sataraka, where she cultivated a deep commitment to the discipline, traditions, and practice of hula. In 2005, she continued her studies under Kumu Hula Malani Kalekolio, with whom she danced and trained through 2016.

Through the years, Anakē Kaleihiwa has had the honor of representing her kumu and her hālau in competition, receiving recognition at both the Kalākaua Hula Competition and the Kamehameha Hula Competition on Oʻahu. Her journey in hula has also carried her beyond the shores of Hawaiʻi, most notably to Japan, where she was blessed with the opportunity to share the aloha and beauty of hula with communities abroad.

Today, Anakē Kaleihiwa carries forward her kuleana as a Kumu Hula, guiding more than 100 haumāna in the practice and perpetuation of Hawaiʻi’s cultural traditions.

Through Hui O Kamaleinani, she strives to nurture a lasting connection to hula, ʻāina, and the values entrusted to her through her own teachers.

Her work is grounded in the belief that hula is not simply a dance, but a living practice through which ʻike, moʻolelo, mele, and aloha are carried from one generation to the next.

Through her teaching, Anakē Kaleihiwa honors the lineage from which she comes while continuing to cultivate the next generation of haumāna who will carry hula forward.
